Seeing God as Holy- The Call to Surrender and Mission

This powerful exploration of Isaiah 6 confronts us with a question we must all answer: Have we truly seen God as holy? The passage takes us into the throne room of heaven where Isaiah encounters the living God in all His glory, surrounded by seraphim crying out 'Holy, holy, holy.' What follows is a pattern that transforms lives: when we genuinely see God's holiness, we recognize our own sinfulness and brokenness. Isaiah's response was immediate and honest: 'I am ruined, I am undone.' But the story doesn't end there. The moment we confess and repent, God purifies us with His mercy, just as He touched Isaiah's lips with a burning coal from the altar. Then comes the divine call: 'Who will I send?' And our response should be: 'Here I am, send me.' This message challenges us to examine what idols we're clinging to, what visions we've created for ourselves that compete with God's vision for our lives. Are we too comfortable with God, treating Him casually rather than with the reverence He deserves? The warning is clear: if we won't willingly surrender our idols and walk with God, He may have to undo them Himself. Yet even in that severity, there's mercy, like new life sprouting from a cut-down tree. We're called to stop halfway measures and truly walk with the Holy God who sent His Son as a rescue mission for a world headed toward destruction.
